Cynthia’s real estate career began in 1996 while working with the late Sheldon Hoffman (S.R. Hoffman & Associates) handling the sales and marketing of the North Star Lofts. This was a pioneering, collaborative effort between Brighton Development, Paul Madson and Associates, and Kraus-Anderson Construction to renovate the landmark North Star Blanket Factory. Over the next nine years, they went on to sell out four additional award winning loft buildings by Brighton Development; Stone Arch Lofts, Washburn Lofts, Humboldt Lofts and Park Avenue Lofts.
In 2006, sensing a change coming to the downtown condo market, Cynthia spread her wings and left S.R. Hoffman to join Keller Williams Realty. She sharpened her skills, and continued to study her craft, focusing on re-sale transactions in the Mill District and expanding her knowledge to include other highly desirable neighborhoods in and near downtown. She quickly became the go-to girl for all things Mill District.
With her business gaining momentum, she formed the Cynthia Froid Group in 2009, this time opening her very own shop smack in the heart of the Mill District, where it all began. Cynthia's focus on downtown real estate has remained constant throughout her entire career, and her fierce commitment to servicing her clients continues, as 90% of her business consists of repeat clients or referrals.
Cynthia attended the University of Minnesota and graduated from St Catherine University with degrees in Elementary Education and French. She lives in Minneapolis with her husband and three sons. When she is not selling real estate she enjoys traveling, scuba diving, kayaking, white water rafting and hot yoga.
Investing in the neighborhood that has given her such great opportunity has been a priority for Cynthia. She proudly supports the following cultural anchors in the city: Mill City Farmers Market, Mill District Neighborhood Association, MacPhail Center for the Arts, MSP International Film Festival, Northern Spark, Mill City Summer Opera, Minneapolis Parks Foundation, Mill City Commons, Friends of the Mississippi River, Minneapolis Riverfront Partnership, Green Stick Army, Friends of the Mill District, and Preservation Alliance of MN. She is also a regular contributor to Mill City Times, an online neighborhood resource.

“I have closed a condominium transaction in which Cindy Froid was my Realtor, in this case she represented both the seller and the buyer which is an indication of the confidence clients have in her.
Cindy was extremely competent and professional in every way. I’m happy to recommend her.”

“Warren and I have known Cindy for almost 20 years. She is positive, hard-working, resourceful, professional and knowledgeable. Cindy was able to sell our South Minneapolis home and helped us purchase our new condo downtown as well. She also helped us identify a talented architect, wonderful designer and fabulous moving specialist. Cindy has a keen understanding of the Minneapolis market and represents her clients and their interests with resolve and focus.”

“Cindy has been a reliable agent who knows her market inside and out, and she’s proven to be a very savvy negotiator. Cindy is also very thoughtful and has been sensitive to our needs as both buyers and sellers.”

“I engaged Cynthia Froid’s team this fall to help manage my unit in the North Star Lofts as a rental. While I thought my case for renting vs. selling was solid (better property value after the stadium, park, etc are finished), Cynthia informed me that most other potential sellers were thinking the exact same thing. The obvious revelation here: there would be quite a bit of price pressure a few years down the road when the market becomes saturated.
I agreed to list the property for sale. Cynthia suggested some slight updating and lined up a great staging company. Meanwhile, she was actively networking with her prospects that were interested in North Star Lofts, resulting in showings weeks before it hit the market.
Four days after hitting the MLS, she had generated several offers above the listing price, and it sold way above and beyond the asking price.
It was a great experience working with Cynthia and the team; their coordination made the entire process painless (and fun)!”

“We first met Cindy in the early 90’s. We were living in a condo on the West side of Downtown Mpls., and decided to look at a new townhouse project being built on the other side of town, on the river.
Several years later, when we heard she was representing a new condo project further down the river, she was our first call! Again, the level of service was outstanding, made all the more difficult as we had moved out of the country, and were coordinating the purchase and construction remotely.
The recent sale of our condo was our third transaction with Cindy....and it wasn’t even for sale! Her ability to match buyer and seller, as well as the level of trust she had established with both, encouraged us to give her Dual Agency. That requires a delicate balancing act during negotiations, and she handled it impeccably.
From the beginning, Cindy has been aware of the value of maintaining relationships. But in order to be truly successful, she has had to consistently exceed clients expectations. Her ascent in the downtown real estate market is a testimony to those skills!”

“When selling a home, being represented and guided by a highly seasoned and market-savvy expert is nothing short of indispensable.
After much consideration, I chose to work with Cindy and her team because of their exceptional commitment to excellence, personal touch, and service backed by years of proven award-winning experience. From providing sage advice, setting the right price point, making smart adjustments along the way, to collaborating towards an over-asking offer, I simply could not be more pleased with how the sale of my condominium turned out.
While I’m genuinely grateful for Cindy and her super capable staff, I’m not entirely surprised by the outcome of the journey toward a great sale. Her gracious and impeccable business reputation in the community precedes her along with her strong client-centered commitment. I know I made the right decision and the results prove it.”

“Cindy knows the Mill District and, more importantly, uses this knowledge effectively by listening to her clients. Cindy represented us in two transactions—once as buyers and once as sellers—both in the Mill District. When we first started looking for a new home, we wanted to do so discretely, and Cindy was highly diligent in respecting our privacy. She paid careful attention to what we said we liked and disliked. She could see possibilities in properties we probably never would have considered on our own. She knows the buildings so well that she can say off the top of her head which owners are likely to move soon and which ones might consider a move if the right offer came in. She found us the perfect fit with a home that wasn’t even listed. Cindy represented the sellers as well, and she handled the dual representation with the utmost professionalism and fairness.
When it came time to sell our previous home, she was with us every step of the way, providing key insights into timing, staging, and pricing, and creating buzz about our home before it even hit the market. Cindy generated competing offers within 24 hours, and we closed for a $30,000 premium over our asking price."
