Sarah's Summer Bucket List
Summer for me is a time to focus on family. Now that both my kids are school aged and officially have summer breaks, we'll be spending a lot of time out of the city on cabin trips, lake time, and general quality family time. I’m looking forward to a summer of unplugging, relaxing, and getting out on the water as much as possible.
Lake Time
Every summer we like to spend as much time as we can at lake cabins. We’ll trade off meeting up with both both sides of our families at different cabins in MN and WI. Our lake time this year will be full of paddle boarding, pontoon boat rides, fishing with the kids, and soaking up the sunsets. And there are always rainy days to fill with summer reading - on my list this summer are Glennon Doyle’s We Can Do Hard Things, finally getting to the bestseller Sandwich, and reading lots of Dogman with my 2nd grader. :)
Getting out of the City
When we visit family outside of the city we try to see the local sights too. We always have a ton of fun at small county fairs, which are a perfect size for small kids to explore. We’ll be sure to go berry picking with the kids and hope that we can catch a glimpse of the northern lights again. And of course when we go visit family in Wisconsin we stop at the the iconic Ishnala Supper Club for their famous old-fashioneds.
Close to Home
This summer we'll also be taking advantage of the many local events, parks, and eateries. My kids love catching a Twins game and going biking in the parks. I’m excited to take the whole family out to try some new restaurants this summer, like the Northeast outpost of Rosalia Pizza.
